watercolor course

Places will be limited , being 10 the maximum number of students.

It is recommended to have some prior knowledge of the watercolor technique (Initiation level).

We will work on the concepts of composition,

light and colour.

WORKSHOP DYNAMICS:

1. It will be taught at the Arteztu gallery.

2. The theme will be varied, we will see the possibilities of how to interpret the theme.

3. We will work based on photographs.

4. All aspects related to theory will be carried out in a practical way by both the teacher and the students.

·  Caballete (if it cannot be brought, notify Arteztu)

·  Paper: 100% cotton. 300 grams. Measures 31x41 cm 36x51 cm if you want it bigger too, measures approx.

·  Brushes, palette, support board, tape, etc..

Brushes: 

·  Specific for watercolor

·  Petit gray, whatever thickness you have.

·  Top synthetics

 Synthetic square.​

SATURDAY 24 - In the morning

Explanation of complementary colors and their usefulness

Basic gray processing 

Elaboration of dark colors

Basic colors, shades

· Color exercises: basic mixtures / pastel with white and gray / semi-opaque colors / lavender / make shadow template with blue

SATURDAY 24 - Afternoon

Paint some watercolors with the criteria learned in the morning. 

EXERCISES:  

 

OBTAINING GRAYS

Basic gray with complementary colors.

- Ultimate Blue Carmine, burnt sienna.

- Red + Prussian blue.

- Ultramarine blue + orange

- Ultimate Blue payne grey.

- Emerald green + carmine.​

GETTING GREENS.

HUMIDITY EXERCISES:

- Dry, simian, damp, wet, flooded

- Application of water splashed by zones

- Glazes 

SECONDARY EXERCISES:

- Rule of three thirds

- Point of interest

- High horizon, low.

SUNDAY 25 - In the morning

- Types of lighting

- Exercise de  shadows

- Humidity control

- Effects of moisture and pigment density

- Composition. Atmospheric and circular perspective

- Concepts of background, medium plane and foreground.

SUNDAY 25 - In the afternoon

Paint some watercolors with the criteria learned in the morning. 

Some watercolors painted by Ricardo will be raffled!
